well IANAP as well, but we're talking about focus in photography here. Focus exists because there is a lens, but this has nothing to do with the human eye. Once a photo is taken it is a 2D object, so that's all your eyes have to focus on. Or am I missing something with your question?

how would it without the software? I'm no DJ, but it looks like they're outputting different audio on each channel. Sure, you could buy the app and not the cable, but if they're smart they'd include the app for free with a code with the splitter, so you're paying $20 for the product...

hey Giz, nice video. More of this, less random non-gadget crap

well, I guess you could just have flash cards too. Maybe the point is that you'll always have the cover with the iPad (if you own both), so you won't need anything else, even though paper is a fairly trivial requirement

I had one of these too, they were awesome. I remember having the fix the steering control arms a few times, and the shocks were pretty lame compared to my next car that had hydraulic ones, but still, brings back the memories.

your radiator actually needs to cool down the water. the way that TECs work is they'll output a current if there's a temperature _differential_ between the 2 sides. I think if you tried to use one as a radiator, your water would get hot, the TEC would output voltage, sure, to a certain point until the TEC saturates

err... why not just gchat

less of a #correction, and more of a #the-writer-obviously-doesnt-understand-the-point-of-his-entire-article

er, but... you said this:

There are some crappy free iPhone apps to calculate hyperfocal for you. The one I have works barely well enough to make me not write my own...

same, and I believe no, the aperture ring is nice to have for weird effects...

reminds me of something they'd have at the Exploratorium

I don't think anyone at gizmodo actually reads these articles anymore. The corrections lately have been stupendous.

WITH INVITES. So he means meeting invites, which certainly do pop up notifications, but they're from the Calendar.

the badge can't update via push without opening the app? I thought most apps just didn't, I wasn't aware that was a hard requirement. Aren't pushes a completely separate concept from multi-tasking? Push came out on the iPhone 3G, which doesn't even support multi-tasking...

The Swiss Machine!

maybe because we were burning up reserves here instead of increasing gas prices? it's spiking right now, I expect that to alter car sales.

so you want to auto-tune a whale? awesome

Uh... 24-bit compared to 16-bit is a factor of 256. You don't just multiply by 2... Well you do, but you do it 8 times, not once.
