I listened to this last week, and this was a difficult and admirable thing to do. But this article reads as very self-congratulatory.

Personally I found the major flaw, and in no way a redeemable one, to be how much significant backstory hiding in freaking comic books, an animated movie, patches and tiny add in “chapters” to flesh it out so it could be called Final Fantasy.
