It’s like two people similar to them come standard with every one of these videos/situations.

1st Gear: sounds great as a mechanical engineer. But... what if I don’t want to move to Detroit?

Seriously. Sounds like a lot of people complaining about something they’ll never even experience. Building a 1500hp car isn’t hard, you can see that at any small town drag strip. Building a 1500hp car an auto journalist or random rich guy can get in and not kill themselves with is a feat of engineering. Hell, building

I need to get a pair of those glasses. My wife and I often wonder what the other sees. For example, I love heavy cloud cover here in SC because it’s the only time the trees and grass look properly green to me. On sunny days everything looks washed out and dull. For her it’s basically the opposite.

This. People have to have enough money to get to work. They don’t have to do it in a 1-ton pickup. America is way more spread out than Europe and our public transportation network is terrible even in the most ideal cities. Charge the gas guzzler tax then put it towards infrastructure and and public transit.

No kidding... One can read about political bull anywhere, I just want to ride my bicycle and read about cars.

You’d be surprised what the lowly Beetle can be made to do...

A big thank you to Pennsylvania for making South Carolina redneck look acceptable.

I remember seeing those engines a few years back. They would work in a Bug with probably minor modifications (sheet metal), but I never saw anyone seriously consider it. If I remember correctly, each engine is well over $30k. That’s worthwhile on a 356 where a quality stock rebuild costs that much or more, not so much

Something awesome! CJ3-A right? I’ve wanted to restore one of those for years now.

I don’t understand how this works out financially for Tesla. Is it like when AMD sells a 3-core processor that’s just a 4-core with an unstable core? Or are they actually giving 75kWh of good lithium paste and charging less for it? Seems like buyers of both the 60 and the higher model are getting screwed here since it

I own a VW Thing and a fixed gear bike. Is this article about me or are my choices a little too mainstream?

My vote is NP for what this is. However, I’ve been lusting after the R32 since I first saw them and that would probably be my choice if the interior isn’t shot to hell.

Stored mechanical energy: high pressure hydraulic lines (e.g. brake lines) and large suspension springs (torsion bars are nasty). I occasionally work with hydraulic pistons in my job and am terrified of a break in one of the 10kpsi lines. As a mechanical engineer, I know this stuff is designed and tested to handle

CP for “how much beer did that take?” If you’re going with a non-Porsche air-cooled flat engine, why not at least a VW T4? It’s plausible, and could make significantly more power.

Star for a Citroen DS. Always a classic.

Whee NASCAR! Go fast and turn left!

It used to be that you could go down to the FLAPS and get half decent shoes for your Beetle. Not any more. The modern ones suck from personal experience. The kit to put 944 discs on all 4 wheels was the best improvement done to my Thing. They aren’t affected by rain, don’t need adjustment every 2 weeks, parts are

Oh man... Lots of memories coming back.

That is one of the most pleasing dyno graphs I’ve seen in a while.
