The trouble is people go into stores with fond memories of Avatar or Toy Story 3 in HD then realise it is just normal sized telly which pops out a bit and costs much more than say a larger non-3d telly. (not to mention the lack of any 3D content)

In the UK BBC streams 8 of their 9 channels. I have to say the quality is fairly good. They also don't tend to be to strict on third party providers (which also stream other free-to-watch channels). I watched HQ stream on this website and it was almost as good as Standard def TV.

Reminds me of the sony Bravia Ball adverts except they use cats instead of balls and see what happens!

Seeing as we can't buy incandescent bulbs anymore in the UK these are likely to have a huge mark-up! At least they should last quite a long time

I reckon that if mobile phone masts were built of giant lego less people would complain about the sight of them.

As much as people seem to love/hate them, I think when this happens manufacturers should make some sorta touch screen. The way a TV remote usually gets handled I could see this remote not looking as shiny in a few months.
