Totally agree. I don’t really know how to deal with it though. I do like what some commenters below said about how each choice doesn’t have to be feminist, we all get tired sometimes, and we need to pick our battles.

Well, I’m sorry too then. I really like ccc, and thought it was dismissive and mean, but I read it totally wrong.
... you recognize that feminists are concerned with breaking sexist traditions, right? So saying , its nice for me because it makes me feel manly and chivalry yay!, just doesn’t cut it.
dude. you bragged about barely passing the whiff test, and now you’re here bagging on someone who called you out on it? What gives.
Did you guys have a discussion where she made it clear it was OK for you not to take her name?
Truth, and I think it gets overlooked a lot. I mean you could argue that marriage itself is patriarchal.
“The simple act of making a choice doesn’t make you a feminist.”
This is the ‘problem’ I have with choice feminism. I agree that on an individual level everyone has the right to chose their path. I get concerned when looked at from the macro level and everyone is ‘choosing’ the same thing and it happens to be the patriarchal status quo.
How did I miss this? I’ve been following Dreijer from the Knife to Fever Ray, and she’s one of my absolute favourite artists. She reminds me of Twigs, in the sense that she’s strange and wonderful and dangerous.
You won’t lose touch, sometimes the frequency of hangouts is the only change. I’m friends with all the worthwhile people from the undergrad and masters still. We aren’t always in the same city, but my best friends and I all travel once a year to hang out.
We all regret the shit we didn’t do. I regret not doing the clubs and extra curriculars, because getting drunk and making out with dudes did not help my career.
Oof that’s the shitty part. Be strong, the good skin part is head!
Its not legal, but I’ve still had it happen. Same place had us put 50 cents a shift into a walkout jar that they never let us use for the purpose.
My starbucks has a different counter, and also even the regular counter to pick up drinks isn’t near the cash.
The ladies I know from Iran complain about this too. They thought it had to do with the freshness though.
the advice was literally how to deal with and enable a squalling man child so not to hurt his feefees over his gaming addiction.
Well, if you tip above the norm you are still safe from server judgement most likely, but the ‘best’ customers are the ones that tip based on the original amount.
Thank you for trying to talk sense into these doorknobs. While I’m not sure if it worked, I appreciated seeing well thought out responses.
My union, and international union, just did a report on if pay equity had been reached. They found even in unionized environments like the University where I work, it is not, for a myriad of reasons.
physical autonomy?
