I’ve been a military spouse my entire adult life. I’ve gone through this process (albeit in an ancillary form) and I completely agree. No way, no how, in no known universe would Trump pass a basic clearance let alone anything above TS/SCI.

Danny Trejo gave an interview to The Daily Beast about a documentary he’s involved in regarding the mass incarceration in this country and said a very similar thing: (I’m paraphrasing here) Arm every 18 year old of color with a gun & see how fast the NRA & the gun lobby backs right the hell off.

I don’t have words to express how profoundly I could relate to this essay, and how profoundly I am unable to relate. (SN: I’m a white lady.) I just want to thank you for writing this and sharing it. I’ve sent it on to my adult kiddos as well as many friends & family.

This was my favorite book as a kid, which was long ago when we rode our dinosaurs to school. I read it to both my (now adult) kiddos; I’ve longed for a faithful adaptation of this gorgeous story.
