Also, bear in mind that, at a gay strip club, none of the guys will have a problem receiving male attention or performing for them, even if they are straight (which, actually, plenty of them are). At a male strip club for women? Yeah, if the stripper is progressive and/or not…

See, I don’t agree, unless there’s a dearth of stripping happening in gay bars or clubs. Even then, gay men want to be around gay men, not tons of hetero women.

From what I’ve seen of the show and press for it, the whole business is very pro-women. It isn’t anti gay, but she’s trying to create a safe space for women to get lit and get spoiled. Specifically black women. Her Twitter comment just backs that up, you’re welcome to come through but she didn’t make this for men.

I think that’s why she opened the club in the first place, to promote the idea that women can get their’s and not be ashamed. It’s not super common and she thinks it should be.

No we cannot give racist white people ammunition for their gaslighting but we don’t have to use language in a way that buys into their narrative that PoC make up these racist attacks and to me the language used did that. That narrative is also part of the problem that is white supremacy.

I’m not hijacking anything I am deliberately pointing out how this “warning” is being directed to PoC in ways that they damn sure wouldn’t think to do so to white people despite the fact that the history says that when it comes to racial violence being fabricated it is white people who are more likely to do so. But…

It’s annoying because this type of scolding in this manner doesn’t seem to happen with white people when they pull shit like this. It’s more a thing that white people are blaming shit on phantom PoC than the other way round but this conversation is about who minorities need to get it together.

Let’s not address this to just minorities we have plenty of examples of white people doing shit and blaming it on phantom Black people and yet things are not discussed on the regular as though this type of fabrication is a regular thing.
