It sounds like you believe the justice system should be more about punishment rather than deterrence. While that may make you *feel* better, we have about a thousand studies demonstrating that strict punitive consequences don’t necessarily prevent crime, ESPECIALLY crime perpetrated by children and teens.

To be fair, cancer kills just about everyone it would seem.

It was in exchange for a settlement. Pretty much every settlement ever includes confidentiality and non-disclosure clauses, in part just to prevent others with colorable claims from knowing what was paid out to settle other cases. This part isn’t abnormal, it’s literally everything else that is.

This happens often whenever a thoughtful and/or humble developer/content creator when they are taken by surprise when their product is really successful...greed takes the helm, sometimes cloaked in the incentive to meet player demand.

“Dragonstone” succeeded at this when it relied on its visuals, especially so when conveying Dany’s heart-swelling return without dialogue or getting across Sam’s lowly position in the Citadel through an expertly edited barrage of exceedingly vile bedpans.

I think it’s rather silly and shortsighted to slight someone for giving a negative review to a game while having this many hours on record playing it. There are a variety of reasons why, so I’ll try to get through them quickly:

There’s a difference between holding political beliefs and starting an entire company devoted to harassing and trolling people who aren’t Trump supporters.

Luckey being an embarassing racist idiot has absolutely nothing to do with where your computer was manufactured, but I salute you for realizing you had no coherent argument or point to make and then choosing to post anyway. You’ve made everyone else’s posts look smarter by comparison.

Apple and Google have “walled gardens” on their mobile platforms.

People who didn’t have money to buy legit games in the first place and took on piracy, won’t suddenly have money to buy games just because the pirates stopped pirating stuff :)

A reduction in piracy won’t = an increase in sales. it’ll just result in less games being played by pirates.

Cheating is the single main thing that keeps you away from the multiplayer component of PC games? Then how do you know there are cheaters?

Football players make millions because people pay billions to watch football. Nobody pays a dime to go watch the cheerleaders at a football game because they’re an unnecessary accessory, just like the pretzel vendor.

Don’t worry man. Kotaku is filled with console noobies so you’re going to get a lot of rage for saying that, but I’m right there with you. I’m also going to get a lot of shit for calling them console noobies. I don’t mean that in a derogatory way, I just mean they’re more casual and “nooby” to gaming in general, so

As someone who used to compete at a very high level on the early e-sport scene back in the days of unreal tournament, quake and counter strike, I can’t endorse Halo and it’s lack of skill as a valid e-sport. There is absolutely not a single thing about the Halo system that makes it a skill based first person shooter.

To me, it has nothing to do with identifying myself with the character I'm creating. To be honest, if I'm playing an MMO and will spend countless hours looking at my character, I'd rather create a pretty girl than some hulking man-dude.
