Oh man, the Handspring Visor. Talk about a blast from the past. I had that thing in highschool and used it for recording homework I had to do and used the calendar for tests and project due dates. I haven’t seen that thing in years.

I’m happy for the kids. They were like local celebrities and everyone wanted to take a photo with them.

yeah, exactly. The only way I could see this being good if you need something faster than every month or if the amount of time between shipments are variable.. both are kind of rare...

I still don’t fully get this. 90% of these things are sold in such large bulk pack that I can just use subscribe and save and get the discount. If I'm using something regularly enough that I need a button to re-order, I'll use S&S.

As a Java developer, I would be surprised if a developer used “valueOf” in this case because valueOf converts something into a string. The last name field is already a string so it wouldn’t make sense to use, unless there was some lazy generic method being used.

Yeah that’s what I figured. Makes me wonder what the airlines and IRS have that causes this issue with null.

With JavaScript, it’s possible “Null” == null is true. I haven't tried this before. Either way “Null” === null is false and is what should be used. But full stack developers always mess this up

Ha. The fact that this happens as a programmer is pretty funny. The difference between “Null” an actual string value and null is pretty big. Though now I’m going to have to test this in a few databases.

maybe I’m misunderstanding something, but I don’t understand why Apple can’t do one thing...

Technically this wouldn’t be the WORLD’s worst cable nightmare considering it isn’t on Earth...

I’m sure it is the same, even with insurance. BUT it is then your child. With adoption you can pay close to $20k in legal and travel fees and then have to give the baby back and do it all over again. Adoptions fall through more often than you would think.

That last paragraph hits home why it’s so damn bad that the government makes it so hard to adopt. Besides the cost, the fact that jobs with maternity leave will NOT cover adoption (that is true for something like 50% of companies). The fact that there’s over a 70% chance that I will be audited this year because I

That is not what I am saying at all. My wife and I adopted and we are going to again, after we pay off the $100k the first one ended up costing us due to legal issues. I am saying that there is a huge risk you need to make with emotional tolls that are SO much more than with the surgery. Can you imagine your kid being

And here’s another case of a baby being taken away because of ICWA laws..

Private Domestic adoption costs on average around $40,000, but can go up from there. And the legal statements are correct. If the birth-father is in the picture and agrees to the adoption, then the rights of the birth parents are forfeited depending on the state the baby is born in law’s, which can be right away or up

adopting a newborn is insanely expensive and difficult. With costs around $50k, and sometimes way more. And the birthmother has up to six months to change their mind and then you have to give the baby back to her, no matter where in the country she lives. And if the birth father is not in the picture, but comes back

Have you tried sleep cycle (or the android equiv)? The fact that you have to maneuver the phone out from between the mattress and the sheets really helps. Plus that it wakes you up in a lighter phase of sleep...

we’ll see if that’s true when everyone in NYC knows this exists and is connecting to the service.

I WISH internet was only $50 a month. Optimum has the nerve to charge $60 for speeds that normally top out at 3-4mbps, and consistently goes down.

That DOES exist... There are plenty of lotteries that you have better odds with a grand prize ranging from $500 to $5,000,000. You just don't hear about them because they aren't as grandiose numbers.
