It's an incident because it is an event involving the death of a person. It was either an accident or homicide, but that determination has not been made and is really not possible to make for those of us outside the investigation.
I think this story is a bit of a litmus test. I don't think it has any obvious message or meaning. The way someone chooses to interpret it can be an insight into how s/he views the world.

Possibly the most confusing part was that it seemed to imply that 'fascia' is some kind of unified entity that spans the entire body. Fascia is a kind of tissue, like muscle or nerve. I don't see any reason to believe it has some kind of 'secret' that can be 'unlocked.'
