That's exactly WHY they have the persecution complex. They're so accustomed to a complete absence of even the slightest questioning of their beliefs, and having their beliefs held up and enforced by socio-politics, that they perceive ANY attempt to question or limit this as persecution.

There's sort of a split. The more Christian conservatives (who represent most conservatives in the US) support Israel without question. But then the less-Christian, more sovereign citizen type conservatives are the ones that talk about the "Jew media" and "zionist banking cabals", etc.
