I actually found the girl coming out of the tv scene to be one of the least scary scenes in The Ring. Whereas many of the scenes leading up to that one relied on slow-building, creepy, and macabre imagery, that scene used a really cheap feeling "she's gonna get ya" fantastical tactic.

I wanted to watch the last meteor shower in the place that was the best compromise of proximity and minimal light pollution. I first used a light pollution map to get a general area. Then I used google maps to find specific roads. I then used google street to find specific pull-over spots and dirt roads to park in.
