I said it before and I’ll say it again ... coming from a heavily modified turbo miata, the countryman S with All4 (and sport suspension) was the perfect solution to having kids. The Gen 1 R60 was barely longer than my miata, shorter than our civic, and way more fun.

I had a 1988 red alltrac as well. They were actually pretty solid and reliable, given they had basically the same engine as 75% of the toyotas on the road at the time (3SGTE motor was roughly the same as the 5SFE and 3SGE in the Camry, Celica GT, MR2, whatever...).
