In 2000, when we were paying $1.35 per gallon ($2.00 today), a Ford Windstar got 18 mpg city/23 mpg highway. With efficiency gains and the fact that gas isn’t wildly more expensive (at least in the middle of the country), people aren’t spending much more for gas than they did about 20 years ago.

I think that’s sarcasm...hopefully?

The plates are New South Wales, Australia.

They do trot out the Violette Morris story every couple of months. Haven’t seen this one before, so kudos to Jalopnik for originality.

I’m a Republican who believes in states rights. Leave California alone! Their standards work for them and have actually benefited the entire country as manufacturers make all vehicles to their standard. The climate-denying garbage is one of many reasons I’m okay with the inevitable decimation of the party.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen an automaker fall so hard and so fast. Other than the NSX, Acura is a shell of its former self. The ILX is objectively terrible for the price, the TLX and RLX are uncompetitive, and the reliability of nearly all of their models has absolutely plummeted.

In New York? Surely you jest.

It is special

Life would be so much better if Twitter was never invented. Every day I click on the news and someone (multiple someones) do something incredibly stupid on it. Leader of the free world? Check. Pioneers of Industry? Check. Celebrities? Check.

I don’t know, the new Mirage is so bad I actually preferred driving a Dodge Aries.

Yeah, oddly enough I want that buggy.

That’s not the period Donald refers to. Late 40's through mid-60's is what he’s thinking.

1. Not a bad idea, but since registrations are done by states good luck getting everyone on board.

God almighty that’s awful

I test drove a 2018. The interior is impressive, but as a big guy (6'3, 250) I just found it a little snug. The leather seats are in improvement over the 2017 model, big time. Overall I liked it, and it’s very pretty, but the Accord just felt better to me.

GM’s done a lot of crappy badge-engineering over the years, but the Saab 9-7x key location stands out as the most cynical, half-assed, pandering single act of engineering the General has done.

I still prefer the PT Cruiser over the Chevy HHR. Both are absolutely horrible.
