It’s a semi-autobiographical look into the life of Maria Bamford who has bipolar II. I wouldn’t describe the show as cynical, it’s pretty uplifting but it can be depressing at times. However, the victories Maria does make are worth it. It’s also really funny. Mary Kay Place is especially good this season.
