@Silellak: so what? Apple can't legally do a damn thing even if they can detect a jailbreak (which they can). This is what Apple did with the iBooks issues after an earlier release of the Greenpois0n jailbreak — basically as I understood it Apple (or any developer) tries to write a dummy file to a location where they…
Readability released their mobile web app the other day also ... as an alternative. It's compatible with any mobile browser.
@cPTcAPSLOCK: because some people aren't pack rats. Makes it easier to find what's important also if you don't have all kinds of less important crap still in your email — less to sift through.
I like the idea, but the filters I've created at this point are far more accurate and effective at filtering things out of my inbox automatically. For people who haven't taken the time to build things out though it's a great start.
@mikey.robbo: yes, it has been in TESTING for a while. This is the official version (no more beta).
@Unicorn Man: the app in the App Store is a spammer — he hijacked the name (and Apple is apparently doing nothing to help the legitimate developer get the name back).
#tip Dropbox support is experimental, but pretty awesome.
I wasn't aware of Doit.im — pretty cool. The web UI is painfully slow and clumsy though.
yeah, that's unfortunate ... it's not worth $1.99. It was great at the free level, but it's too basic to be charging $2.
oh interesting ...I'll keep this in mind.
isn't this what iOS 4.3 is supposed to add? [www.apple.com] —> iTunes Home Sharing sounds like it'll do this.
I never had a battery problem with LockInfo ...did you try a reinstall? It may have been a bug in that particular build of it.
I used GRiP a lot back in the day ...too bad the dev abandoned it. LockInfo is a great replacement though.
The pictures are part of LockInfo v3 ... I have 3.0.1 installed at the moment. They may not display if you don't have any pictures associated, or you may have it disabled in the settings. Plugins —> Mail —> under "Data" —> Show Sender Image
For what it's worth I've run into my share of updating problems too — having said that, I'm feel pretty confident saying that it's pretty darn difficult to completely brick an iPhone. Like you pointed out sometimes it's an issue with a corrupted IPSW download from Apple (or else where), sometimes it's that the phone…
Just as a point of comparison (for how minimal LockInfo can look also) —
uh, jailbreaking (assuming your version and device is supported) quite literally takes about 5 minutes or less. Just sayin'.
I wish you guys would actually just do a write up about LockInfo — it's an amazing app that combines a useful set of Lockscreen widgets (email, calls, texts, calendar, notifications, etc) and the best handling of notifications on the phone itself (just pull up the Infoshade from within any app).
Yeah, I hear ya. I finally just moved up to 4.2.1 the other day — I had been using 4.0.1 ...Apple doesn't add worth while features most of the time so I rarely have a need or desire to "update" to the newer iOS. PkgBackup definitely has taken a bit of the edge off of it though because it speeds up the whole process of…
