Just a sign of poor balancing, if the game was fully balanced the old decks would be viable against new decks. But in a CCG that is incredibly difficult. They need to either let players earn the cards for free somehow or make separate matchmaking for players who don’t have certain expansions.

This sounds similar to what Eidos Montreal did for Deus Ex. They gave the option of micro-transactions to make you more power faster. The core experience wasn’t padded for anyone who didn’t want to use them.

Haven’t played in a while, but hearing about this nerf is really disheartening. This is what happens when you do too much tweaking. Sure being one shot with a Rodhog hook isn’t “fun”, but its not like its completely easy to do. Especially after they fixed the hook.

I can quickly see things going south if they don’t put restrictions on how much the audience can “heckle”. There is a difference between hecklers and someone trying to just ruin the show. And part of the way comedians deal with hecklers are to turn it around and embarrass them, that’ll be tough in a virtual space.

Seeing a lot of Sony hate in the comments about them screwing with Funimation, but I can’t recall any acquisitions by Sony in which they screwed with the company to its doom. Funimation is on a roll, not sure why they would buy them to impede that.
