there are plenty of people who were raised catholic who would disagree vehemently with you. you can't use that as an excuse.

you're not!

/fans self

oh, I agree completely with that and your original statement. I just dislike the idea that we're (according to some) not allowed to criticize anything a victim says simply because they're a victim — that sort of rationalization and willful blindness is exactly what allows abuse cycles to perpetuate.

man, at first I read that as 'adam scott' and I was VERY UPSET

no, it's not. victim-blaming is blaming someone for their assault — implying that they somehow asked for it, or brought it upon themselves. criticizing dawkins for his views on pedophilia and for speaking for all victims is not victim-blaming.

then again, consider the type of bar that would allow this to be posted ...

she's spewing obtuse all over the comment section. the article is like three paragraphs long, and it states, explicitly, that these flowers are being marketed as 'domestic violence flowers.' i don't know how much simpler we can possibly make it.

can you even read? no one's complaining about them being called black and blue, we're offended because they're mocking domestic violence by calling them 'domestic violence flowers.'

if you had read past that statement instead of hurriedly scrolling down to post in a frothy rage, you would understand that the whole point of that statement was to criticize the way doctors eyeball diagnose based on what they consider to be an 'acceptable' appearance. but why try to comprehend when you can kneejerk

a) not when I had made that comment

good lord, you're condescending, aren't you?

she's not proselytizing or saying HEY Y'ALL FATTIES YOU HAVE TO DO THIS OR YOU'RE WORTHLESS — she set a goal and she reached it. who are you to tell her she can't be proud of that?

did anyone — literally anyone — on this thread say that? no? okay, then, stop constructing straw men, it's getting crowded in here.

'I'm a seventeen year old guy. Looking at linoleum makes me want to have sex.'

don't be obtuse.

no. light-years of difference.

you're totally entitled to your opinion, but when you say things like this: 'but it should never be discussed like it was just some medical procedure,' you're dictating the responses of others to suit your personal feelings, which is bullshit.

some people might, actually, and not everyone (far fewer than you may think) cries over their abortion(s). it's not your place to tell people what value they should assign to their medical procedures, and really only serves to increase stigmatization of abortion.

like it was just some medical procedure.
