Yeah, that was pretty gross.

That was a really good answer.

them's fightin' words >:(

yeah, I'm sure that was exactly it.

if he snaps and starts screaming over sexism being suggested / challenged, it's a pretty strong indicator

'because "meritocracy" is usually code for "white guys get the promotions."

Seriously.

'Some places use customer descriptions on their receipts '

'But maybe that's just something I did because I'm a human being with feelings and common sense. '

The whole point of her mentioning it was to put the situation into perspective and to illustrate how the targeting might have been race-based. She explains that pretty explicitly.

'I don't have any evidence to back it up,'

citation, please

Domestic violence and the 'stories' you listed aren't mutually exclusive, genius. It is domestic violence. There's no reason it shouldn't be labeled as such.

From within my blackened, slimy heart, of course!

Exactly.

I have no problem directing my disgust at both. It's not a limited resource!

ugh, anyone I see wearing any of these shirts gets the same reaction I would give to anyone I would see wearing those abhorrent 'let's not turn this rape into a murder' ones. my rage at knowing that these shirts exist, however, is slightly tempered by the fact that I have yet to see them in person.

I did the same thing, and the worst thing is that I have no one to blame but myself. :(

But that's not what you're arguing for. You're arguing for ignoring the other problems entirely. Not to mention the fact that accepting this sort of sexism as 'expected' and 'unimportant' (a flawed premise, due to the fact that empathy is not limited) paves the way for more egregious forms of sexism and misogyny.
