I knew it when they were halfway through that conversation. It was solidified when she handed Sansa the dagger. The dagger that was used against Bran, that Bran knows belongs to Littlefinger...jeezus that scene was filled with hints that they were playing it up for him.

So...time-travel? GoT is going sci fi next season? I dont see how thats going to work...or be any good. Bad, twist. Bad.

This scene isn’t in the books.

Go back and pay attention to what Arya says about the game of faces. They were colluding from the moment Arya realized Littlefinger planted the letter for her to find.

But that’s because that’s what happened. If Not, then why?

That wasn’t Euron. That was just an Ironborn who had taken Yara’s men and was going to go be a pirate.

No, sorry. We need Ned Stark to come back from the dead, check his daughters, and explicitly explain, while staring directly at the camera, that Arya and Sansa were playing a game on Littlefinger.

But we already know they were conspiring against Littlefinger, not really fighting. A scene like that would have taken agency from the sisters and just made them squabbling girls with old man Bran playing the wise male figure who explains the complicated stuff to them. By falling for their fake argument, you’re making

I am surprised everyone thinks it was so ambiguous. The expressions on the sisters’ faces, the dramatic reveal that we were gathered to kill Petyr and not Arya, the smiles shared between the sisters...all made it clear Arya and Sansa had bamboozled Littlefinger.

Mooching around! The Night King has chased the free folk from their homes (The first line of defense for the realms of men), slaughtered a great number of the Night’s Watch (next line of defense) on two major engagements, infiltrated the Night’s Watch with two undead that could have turned all of Castle Black if not

Illuminate us...

I’m not totally sold on the theory that the Walkers bring the winter. There have been winters in the past that did not include an undead invasion and winter is overdue when the books start. I have always had the impression that winter was like “30 Days of Night” where the Walkers basically have the ideal conditions to

Oh I totally misunderstood you. I skimmed too!

The books are set primarily in the Pacific Northwest with forays into Northern California (i.e. Safehold). When I was a kid I spent way too much time mapping out where all the books take place. Brooks lives up here and our landscape is pretty much the most perfect fantasy setting other than of course New Zealand.

Running with the Demon? That’s the beginning of what is essentially a prequel series that eventually leads us into Shannara.

Oh yes. That’s pretty far into the series when it had already gone off the rails. There’s no robots or AI in Shannara proper.

I must staunchly disagree, my friend. The show isn’t remotely more interesting and have nothing to do with the books. That’s like saying Marvel’s Thor is an adaptation of Norse mythology but with more interesting stories. Only similarities here are the names and some of the geography. Otherwise the show could be

The original series is littered with references to the war which ended our modern times and brought on the current state of the world.

The only thing similar are some of the names and the existence of elves and magic.
