Not sure how widespread they are but we have a place here in Metro Atlanta called Cook Out that does pretty much what steak and shake does, but in my opinion much better, and I literally have never been to a faster drive thru. Even with a really long line I’ve never been there longer than a few minutes. 

But yet both these chains seem to insist on now building restaurants with the double drive thru, so they can trap more people there waiting forever for food.
