Well... As an anime fan myself and watched Love Live (became a fan to some extent)... I personally don’t like the insane idol fandom generated by the hardcore Love Live fans. Sure it is based on the Idol Culture from Japan but I just don’t like people fawning over idols doing their work.

I’m partial to deep plot:
