Yeah but at least try to be optimistic. What's the point of all the shade-throwing if everyone already knows how bad GM cars are. Why not look at the other features? it's not a bad design. It's ok to critique, but for EVERY. DARN. LITTLE THING. does nothing

Anything to throw shade at GM, though.

F1's glory days were the same as racing in general. The period from the ‘60s to the ‘90s when sponsorship money was plentiful. Exclusive tire suppliers and the end of tobacco sponsorship ended that. I don’t really want the tobacco sponsors back, but a new tire war would be welcome.

Eh, I can see where he’s coming from. Speed through the corners is pretty noticeable on TV.

I propose magnetic tracks

What person in their right mind would ever get the Caddy over the cheaper XC90? Honestly, even if the XT6 were $5K cheaper than the Volvo I’d still be thinking to myself that the extra $5K to get into the Volvo would have been the best $5K spent. Maybe I like the Volvo too much? Or just don’t like the reskinned Chevy

Honestly, when is Cadillac going to throw in the towel? How many times in the last decade have they tried to reinvent themselves to no avail? It baffles me that the king of luxury SUVs in the mid-2000's has only just now built the XT4 and XT6 and even then somehow managed to screw up the 6.

To counter that:

Deciding between no job and a lower paying job isn’t really much of a decision to make in most parts of this country, you know, the non-union parts.

2nd Gear: A re-skinned Chevy without a nice Caddy V-8 selling for more than 50 grand? Yeah Cadillac already lost. And saying a “tepid” response at NAIAS is being too generous.

Fuck you.

Reduced charge times will be a big step forward for electric cars.  Get it down to 10 minutes for a full 100% charge and then we’re talking.  Of course there are still heat issues to manage to get those recharge speeds.

Neutral:

Many people i talk to keep talking about the established auto industry knocking Tesla out once their cars come to market, but as things are now i see 2 major issues.

Last year, 78% of all Model 3 orders were placed online, rather than in a store, and 82% of customers bought their Model 3 without ever having taken a test drive...Customers are becoming increasingly comfortable making purchases online, and that is especially true for Tesla

I was all for direct sales but it never occured to me that the huge costs associated with the model were baked into the price of the car. Traditional manufacturers that “outsource” sales to the franchise dealerships don’t have to worry so much about that. I hate dealerships, but I think Tesla did the right thing in

I’ve lived through numerous layoff’s over the past 20 years (including the auto industry). Most companies do not give the employees a heads ups that layoffs are coming. My current employer, following a year of record revenue and profit, decided to cut 10% of our engineers. No reason given other than we hired too many

There’s an equal or often better EV alternative to a Tesla at every price point either on the market now, or coming within the next 1-2 years.

Battery production + supercharger network are two things you overlooked that still give Tesla a leg up.

You’r argument is valid. I think that VW is the biggest threat to the Model 3 and Y because of how much effing $ they have and how spread out the company is. I think the fact that Tesla has a good 6-year headstart will be their saving grace for a while, though.
