Tesla has better battery tech right now and in house battery tech at that. They dont need outside suppliers for that and that is their real advantage. Tesla can make as many Teslas as they want right now without having to fight for the maxed out global supply that all these others guys are.
Americans said this about Japan in the ‘60s and ‘70s and Korea in the ‘80s and ‘90s. You’ll get over it soon enough.
90% of the things you own are produced in China, why is this suddenly a problem? For the 4,756th time.... the factory will be physically located there, as will the workers - but the engineering, design, build parameters and fit and finish will still be Volvo. It’s called globalization.
Just remember, GM bad
That sounds a lot like journalism to me.
Sue HOA for improper snow removal?...
Ever since he made that pair of tweets, I’ve been waiting for the appropriate reaction.
I was astonished when it made almost no impact in the wider media.
Tesla went out of their way to ensure Musk’s tweets are official publications, and he flat out stated that 2019's production would be 25% higher than its possible…
It won’t be long before every manufacturer lives and dies by selling EVs. China and many European countries have pretty aggressive targets for EV sales.
THAT is what cannot be overstated. Carmakers made a big mistake not buying into Tesla’s charging systems and network. Tesla could’ve been just been the charging station company; instead, people are also giving the company money to own their cars, versus buying others’ electric cars.
Also fast chargers. No one will be a Tesla killer until they get Tesla level of charger support.
I’m completely UNsurprised by this.
Maybe people will finally cut Tesla some slack and stop reporting how the company is failing because they’re having trouble ramping up production of the Model 3? The legacy automakers are having a much harder time with battery production because they haven’t taken this market segment seriously enough to have invested…
Surprise, building cars is hard, it’s time for “tech” companies to step away and leave it to real car manufacturers to build our cars.
This is a huge reason why the “Tesla Killer” isn’t going to happen for awhile from any company. It really can’t be understated how much of an advantage Tesla has controlling its own battery production. It’s the bottleneck for every new EV.
Just when I was getting used to not reading Felton Tesla articles. Anyways, from the article with the “falling asleep” bit:
This raises a really interesting train of thought..
I already have no qualms about cutting off teslas in traffic because I know they will stop for me and not hit me.
How long until we just walk in front of cars because we know they will stop?
This is a good take because drivers are never distracted and couldn’t possibly hit a pedestrian paying attention and legally crossing the road.
Was with you for the first half but assumed the second half was going to be about better driver awareness. Why should ’bikers and cyclists’ (which are the same, right, unless you mean motorcycles which would be even more bizarre) keep to the edge which is statistically more dangerous for them?
