We were staying at a B&B in Florida and had a wonderful meal at a local restaurant. It was fairly pricey (but tasty) and we had leftovers (steak, shrimp). We realized when we left that our accomodations didn’t have a refrigerator or microwave and we had no utensils. Boy, I hope the guy begging for food on the corner

I don’t mind giving the writers the grace to miss their own errors, since they most likely don’t have editors that would normally do that. It’s the unwillingness to go back and fix them that bewilders me. I regularly rue the 15-minute edit window Kinja imposes on comments, because I don’t always catch my typos in

I can tell you from experience it is very hard to proofread your own stuff if you read it immediately after writing it. Especially if you use voice recognition. You KNOW what you typed/said so you tend to just read right over the errors.

A shole is a plank placed underneath a structure to give extra load bearing surface. So while I am sure he meant to type “whole,” shole actually works in that sentence if you consider that he is grateful the job gave him a lot of money to support his family:)

My favorite was a mandatory employee self-review that was required from a friend the day he was leaving. They MADE him do it before they let him go.

True. It almost seems like they have multiple people splitting multiple entrees which is kind of shitty IMO. But I mean just 2 people, it’s fine. My mom and her hubby do it all the time she also had the same surgery, so neither her nor I can eat very much, stomach is more or less the size of a banana so a regular

I very much agree with that. I have food delivered about once a year (plus occasionally if I am on a work trip and too exhausted to leave my hotel and forage, or I don’t have a rental car) and then rarely anything but Chinese (which actually travels pretty well). If I am paying to have food made for me, I want to eat

One minute it’s better to eat at home and another it’s cheaper to dine out

Our laws were never designed to cope with the existence of megacorporations. Our entire legal system was set up around the idea of individual ownerships, extremely limited (in scope, length of existence, and ownership) initiatives, and mom and pop stuff. We are long overdue for legal reforms, systemic reforms, to

I never really go out to eat but I would 100% split an entrée, now, I had weight loss surgery and in no world could I finish an entrée on my own. Granted I would take it home, but if it’s something that doesn’t reheat well I would def split it.

Also true. It is very enjoyable when things like that can be mixed up for modern joy. I know of a church that has a private room for people to try on clothes meant for different  genders so people can privately try different styles and see what makes them happy. I usually chuckle when other churches protest them

Yeah I just don’t really get the end game here.

I didn’t think about the whole “insert an imperfection” thing, but one would think the combination of Rolls Royce and Petrostate Oligarch would have insisted on a MUCH smaller imperfection. One so small it is mostly theoretical.

My purchase of the white/colored LED lights was most fortuitous.

Do people really not do this? I always look over my shoulder when exiting street-side because you never know when some distracted driver might be drifting out of their lane.

No we aren’t. You sound like a 100% asshole.

Of course.

I drive ~12K miles a year across five cars. ~3500 of that is my winter/summer migration, when I don’t fly. <shrug> I could cut another few thousand miles off by Ubering to the airport instead of driving. The chances of my ever buying another new car shrink by the year given the dreck on the market. That was fun while

At first glance, I thought the pearl accents on the first one were kind of cool. Then I took a second look at the tray table. A third of the design is cut off! Did they forget to measure? What is that nonsense?
