Watching Manhunter is why I read Harris’s book.

Thomas Harris’ novel Red Dragon really got into what immersing one’s self into the mindset of a psychopath does to an otherwise normal person. Good acting requires a level of association and identification that is not only difficult, it’s actually distressing to someone that can do it.
