Jezebel used one as a joke on an article about bugs once. Because people who need trigger warnings are HILARIOUS and bed bugs are clearly on par with all the other trauma people might encounter in a bed.

I took a class last semester that gave me nightmares from the reading material. I didn't realize how dark the literature would be and was experiencing traumatic reactions to it. I battled with dropping the class the entire time and eventually just forced myself to get through it by the skin of my teeth. I tried

A trigger warning is not censorship. Censorship is to remove the material in question altogether. A trigger warning just says "hey, heads up, X is in this, prepare yourself or don't proceed."

Well, the problem is if somebody is in the middle of an anxiety attack or a flashback, they're not firing on all cylinders. Also, the student has to be comfortable saying "This freaks me out because of this personal item in my history" and that's kind of asking a lot.

I'm a domestic violence survivor (childhood and adulthood). Trigger warnings make my life easier. I do not like being upset to the point I feel sick, distressed and shaken. And I do not feel stronger from having watched/read/consumed any art form that portrays domestic violence. I have watched a play with DV portrayed

OK, people, I do not get this argument AT ALL: " trigger warnings "dumb down education," which is supposed to disrupt, confront, expand and enlighten"

what other important, commendable ideas are also terrible?

I'm of two minds about this. It seems the students are calling for warnings, but not actually that material deemed offensive be removed - is there anything wrong with knowing it's coming? I think back to an ill-advised viewing of Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, accompanied by several folks who hadn't read the novel,

The amount of herpes in that pairing is reason enough for the CDC to get involved.

HELL YEAH OREGON!!!! Represent!!!!! Happy dancing for days!

No, see, the ruling was made, and Oregon executive's legal opinion is in agreement with the ruling. Why fight the ruling? This is all part of the balance of powers. The legislative branch got too big for its britches, now the judicial and executive branches are using their areas of power to rebalance. That's a

I wholeheartedly agree with this sentiment: "When someone who cares about you hugs you?" Bullock said, "Hug them back with two arms."

The National Organization for Marriage is against marriage. Got it. Man, I'm tired.

"Sex now?" "No sex now, hole is hurty"

The 2014 version of The Hut totally needs to happen. It'll have WiFi, cable, comfy blankets and pillows — and, of course, all the snacks your heart could desire.

Seriously! You wouldn't have to negotiate that awkward "Sex now?" "No sex now, hole is hurty," thing with your partner. You'd just walk down hill to the hut, no questions asked. And all the other bitches from your hood would be there! SLEEPOVER! Who brought the Midol!?

That is a terrible superpower.

I understand that being sent to a hut because you're "unclean" is not a good thing and the huts probably aren't too nice but every time I hear about something like that I think damn if I wouldn't love a weeklong vacation each month.

Rather than being like forgetting underwear, I'd say it's more like not thinking to bring an umbrella because the thought it might rain just didn't occur to you. Especially if your periods aren't clockwork regular.

I love the idea of this dress, but I think the blush-to-rotten vomit ombre was a very risky color choice. It leaves doubt as to whether it was intentional, or just swept up and stained along the way...
