How can you possibly make that generalization? That's pretty ridiculous.

You don't think that the societal requirement that women use makeup to look prettier is rooted in misogyny? Men also have scars and acne marks, and most of them do not wear makeup— I'm not sure where you're from, but I have heard very little about men wearing cosmetics.

Do you really think that "a fair number" and "legions" are synonymous?

I disagree. If you consider your last name more important to your identity than the natural appearance of your face, then cool, wear makeup and don't change your name (I wear makeup and I probably won't change my name if/when I get married, for what it's worth). It's not like your opinion on the matter is just an

So is getting married, and wearing an expensive dress, and wearing makeup, and etc. etc. etc. to infinity.

I've never encountered anyone here who has a problem with women changing their last names...

I like that you said "time lorde" instead of "time lord." It's the little details that really count.

From what I can tell, there are a fair number of women would like to change their surnames (so that their whole family, children included, can have the same single last name), but don't because it might be professionally confusing and thus detrimental. (My mom was in this situation.) In Amal's case, that issue is

She's a little batty, I think. Have you seen her Twitter?

I would love to know how she ended up with that on her body in the first place.

That doesn't sound borderline sociopathic to me, it sounds like the only possible way to cope with being constantly surrounded by death, suffering, and grief. People need to do this work— especially the work of nurses, a job that is far more thankless than that of doctors.

I totally agree. Like, it isn't your fault that the relationship didn't work out, but it isn't your heterosexual partner's fault, either, and I've felt like the coverage of this has been super callous for no good reason.

Definitely stay hydrated. Good luck!

My guess is that that opinion would be irrelevant to the specific topic at hand (presumably the discussion wouldn't be premised solely on "CONTEMPORARY MILITARY POLICIES, GO!"), so it could be shut down without it feeling like "haha fuck you, you're dumb." I wouldn't really want to open it up for a huge discussion,

Suggestions for study music? I am in the throes of midterms panic and am getting pretty sick of my go-to choices!

I'm really glad it's worked out for you. Thank you for the thoughtful responses— I really appreciate it.

This is awesome.

I'm reading this in public and my jaw just dropped. And it took me a really long time to be able to close my mouth. Ahhhhhhhh.

Yikes, I'm sorry. Selfishly, I am glad to hear that other people have had mildly traumatizing experiences with sea kayaking.

This is a great response, thank you so much. What kinds of work did you do in CBT, if you don't mind my asking?
