i recently just went through a stretch listening some older rancid, jawbreaker, smoking popes, and face to face. i still like those records.

ah, the pride of urbana-champaign. i went to school there (U of Ill.) during the height of emo. braid, promise ring, rainer maria, cap 'n jazz….i could never get into braid. like most bands of the 90's, i feel as if their popularity increased more following their break up than during their existence.
it seems like they pared back some of the prog for this one. a lot of the riffs remind me of stuff from leviathan but wrapped in a lot more melody. i don't think it's their best record, but it's catchy as shit.
fuck this herb.
i only found about AIC when the singles soundtrack came out with 'would?' on there, and i was instantly a fan. i'll admit i didn't love sap. being young, i just wanted their next records to basically be facelift II or dirt II. just anything that had big riffs and solos. i remember a college friend giving me grief for…
i blame snickers and low self esteem.
i'd say they took more of their cues early on from starkweather instead of rorschach. and i don't think dalbec willingly left the band. i recall an interview with them basically saying he wasn't able to keep up with a lot of the guitar lines ballou was writing. they accommodated him by providing simpler parts but they…
i didn't even know next season is the final one, which totally bummed me out as i read this review. i will really miss this show, but i expect next season to be a great one given how they've positioned all the players on the pieces.
i see chloe has since read the 'girl with the dragon tattoo' series.
while i agree it wasn't the best premise, i just don't know how else they could've had tyrese and carol reconcile the death of his girlfriend. if it wasn't going to be kids, it would've been someone else and it probably would've come off exactly the same way.
ebullition's distro—maybe i was lazy, but i hated the fact that everything was done by weight and you had to do a bunch of math to figure out the total. that made for complicated dealings, especially large orders with your friends. and then you needed alternates in case they were out of something.
oh shit, i didn't know lance hahn died. damn.
most of my college years were filled with these bands since i hung out with kids in the champaign punk collective at UIUC. so many pop punk/punk bands came through to play shows at the red herring.
the show needs more tim. also, for whatever reason i laughed at pretty hard at the falafel/hush puppies reference by raylan.
i never listened to much ska, but when i did, i always put on slapstick. saw them a bunch of times at U of I, urbana champaign. bouncing souls came around a few times too.
cool ranch for me.
this was basically my record catalog in the late 90's. i don't even know where to start.
my wife isn't an avid watcher of this show, but she managed to view most of this season. her reaction once the ending credits rolled—'THIS SHOW IS SO STUPID'
i still can't get over bill compton singing.
would be cooler if they had 2 sets—clear with meth-blue splatter, and one with pics of walt/jesse before and after.
chris doesn't need a father. the xbox one just came out.
