The only thing keeping industry prices mostly stable for so long, is that game companies know that they have to keep gaming affordable to the middle class. The second gaming is perceived as prohibitably expensive, or a big luxury, the industry collapses. 

I don’t have a big problem with $70 game as long as they are big tent pole AAA games. Lower budget games and indie stuff should remain around $50 or less. This means checking out reviews is more important than ever. Is a particular new game really worth $70+, or should I just wait for a sale months down the road.
