"Spanish Fresco Monkey Jesus" has the exact same cadence as "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles".

Not remembering names is an awkwardness I've long got over. Now I have no problem saying, "Ha, sorry, I'm an idiot — I know we've met but what's your name?"

This is Texas. Federal laws are for other states.

Every reasonably informed consumer of this site is well aware that the headline refers to the detoxing pushed on consumers, not to the real biological process mentioned in the article.

The Marauders map creators. It's only so egregious because it would have taken 1 or two lines to throw it in and have it actually make sense for people who hadn't read the books.

But surely that's not an anagram, that's a spoonerism.

I think this is close. You can't intone your voice, but there's no restrictions on pausing. If Person 100 can see all 99 hats, then they start the pattern, and unfortunately may sacrifice themselves. They pause for 1 second, to signal that they are referring to 1 person in front of them, then say the color of the

Actually (knowing the answer to the puzzle) the solution does in fact require you to think of "how can we sneak in extra information past the guards", but the difference is the only responses allowed are binary (red or blue - not red, blue, red?, blue?, red!, blue!, red....., blue....., etc.).

it's not logical if you close off a logical way to solve a problem just because you want some obscure and specific answer

The point I actually wanted to make (though maybe I did not do so explicitly enough) is that Xilonen's answer, and Robbie's response, illustrates exactly why a great many of these "logic" puzzles are not actually good brain training for logic.

No, it's precisely a "how can we sneak in extra information past the guards" problem. The guards want you to guess, and kill you or not based on that; the puzzle is to figure out how to do better than guess, by having the prisoners give each other extra information. The "math/logic" is the how.

But — the hats? If they just leave, how will they ever know the color of their hats?

This is exactly what I thought of. I disagree with Robbie. This is a perfect solution that allows 99 (50% chance of all 100) prisoners to live. Even if someone messes up as you go and gets shot, the next person should still be able to deduct the correct answer for theirs. Since no time limits are set, they can take as

Haha, no worries.

My sincerest apologies!

The argument is that no legal system is perfectly worded since every law is subject to interpretation which can easily go counter the author's intention; often in unforeseeable ways.

The real question here is whether or not we want these guys to go free. Are these prisoners in for minor drug charges or are we at a federal supermax?

Even count or odd count of one color. This first guy announces based on this 50 50 but everyone else lives

How many rounds of ammunition do I get?
