Lucky! Not that my parents didn’t help while I was in college, because they absolutely did (thanks, guys!), but my formal allowance disappeared when I started working in high school.

Teaching a child that their body is their own and they never have to feel forced to allow others access to it is empowering and healthy. Further, not everyone enjoys touch to the same degree. A person, child or otherwise, should be allowed to seek out the amount of touch they desire on their own.
