I know! Its not social media that caused this, Judge Dumbass. Its the fact that kids are educated now about sexual assault and told to report it. I know women in their 40s and 50s who were molested and kept it quiet because NO ONE TALKED ABOUT IT BACK THEN. Hell, I learned my great grandmother was raped at age 9

It is complete bullshit, but I really don’t get why Mitch did it. I doubt there are some moderate constituents who would decide that Sessions actually isn’t great and would call his GOP senator after watching this on CSPAN. Was he really worried that her reading the letter would sway a GOP senator’s mind? Hasn’t this

Right, a letter that was, in fact, written for. a. Sessions. Senate. confirmation.

Invoking rule 19 is completely insane for a confirmation hearing. But even putting that aside for a second, how is reading a letter from Coretta Scott King impugning his character? Like, how?

“Females” is used to refer to animals, not human women. It’s disrespectful and dehumanizing.

Another piece of good advice: Don’t refer to women as “females.”

I did something like this once. I had recently moved to a new city where I knew hardly anyone. I’d heard about an author event being held at a bookstore in a part of the city I didn’t know particularly well, so it was a challenge on many levels for this introvert.

I arrived at the bookstore and wasn’t familiar with the

Normally I would think this, but just yesterday this exact thing happened to me and it ended up being awesome. I ordered, and I was waiting for my coffee the guy next to me just struck up a conversation and introduced himself. We ended up chatting for like 10 minutes and it turned out he owns one of my wife and mine’s

“Hi! My name is Jack, I see you also like to pee at Starbucks.”

That’s fair. Coffee shop may not be the best example for this exercise.

Yeah. I usually get so anxious on the drive over that I’m shutting down by the time I arrive.

The reason this doesn’t make any sense is that my anxiety will have gotten the best of me half an hour before I leave the house.

Same.

I can see at an event, but if someone just came up to me in a coffee shop and introduced himself to me with no followup, I would be a little creeped out.

“you’re going to let political opinions ruin friendships?”

It’s hard to find two people in the world who’ll agree on email was “meant to be”. I use a fairly canonical GTD system, where an inbox is only used to collect unread, unprocessed email. I can’t stand looking at people’s inboxes where thousands of handled and unhandled messages sit in the same space.

That’s basically my plan. Also I will refuse to make any decisions or help anyone find that thing that is sitting in plain sight if you’d just LOOK for 5 seconds.

Completely agreed on that front. I hate nothing more than when someone thinks I’m being over sensitive for unfriending people over political disagreements. Literally 100% of the time i do it it’s because I found out the hard way that the offender is a horrible person.

I would just throw up my hands and go out and get drunk. But that’s just me. : )

I am hoping that before they left, the Obama’s installed in the White House three animatronic ghosts programmed to visit Trump on Christmas Eve.
