I am not disagreeing with you, just out of curiosity why is ‘female’ so distasteful?

Like I said, there’s a shifting Venn diagram of attraction.

And I never said “find the most interesting person who might meet your criteria while you simultaneously check their boxes and sit down and chat them up.” I said pay attention to how open they are to conversation as well as simply how attractive the person

Another gross aspect of this case is that he was charged with statutory rape because he was 18 and she was 14. But he forcibly raped her as well! Which, I imagine, has greater penalties than statutory rape. But also I wonder if he hadn’t turned 18 a few weeks before he raped her, would he have been convicted at all?

It’s my contention that the racist/mysoginistic/isolationist vote was always there in force, but the big “con” that Trump pulled was making everyone on the other side believe “there’s no way he can win anyway...” He didn’t fool the fools, he fooled the rest of the country in to a state of malaise.

Silly olivia anne, thinking she represents all “females” when obviously you’re the one they elected as their official representative.

I’ve also been part of io9 for over a decade. In fact, I’m friends with a couple of the writers there. But we’re on Lifehacker, aren’t we?

Steady there. Not “anywhere” else and not to just anyone. Don’t introduce yourself to women in enclosed or creepy places, like the elevator or the crowded subway. And don’t disturb people who are reading, have headphones on, or seem rushed or harried.

Like pretty much all PUA advice, that is really icky. That’s fine, go in with a smile. And of course, talk to someone.

But canned line? I mean, if it makes you feel less nervous I guess it’s okay to plan something to say in advance. But just copying PUA lines from a website will make you sound like you copied PUA

It’s weird but I was thinking of that quote just the other day. I’ve always found it a strange way to express what was happening at the time, but for the first time in my life I truly understand how those are exactly the right words.

Tell the men to strike hypothetically then.

Making me nostalgic. I had a similar experience. Remember when email address paths took up half the page? And email from Japan took like an hour or two to receive? Heady times.

Idk, this story sounds ... like unfounded gossip mostly? I know it’s the NYT so presumably it was vetted, but someone here said the reporters on this piece used to write for a tabloid. Lots of unnamed sources and petty observations. It kinda freaks me out, tbh. Maybe I just don’t want it to be true.

I reject your nerd elitism. Nerds who used the internet in the early days were mostly privileged white men, many of whom were unaware of their privilege and had all kinds of noxious beliefs. They didn’t need to state them overtly, though, because no one was challenging them.

Tbh I don’t like name-calling. It’s not allowed in elementary school and I feel like if we don’t want our children doing something hurtful we probably don’t want to do it ourselves.

I was on a conservative site and I was surprised at how much the vicious name-calling got to me. I came back to Jezebel and it struck me

Woah, that’s an amazing idea even for people not in your workplace. That would be super difficult to do in any mainstreamed, organized way but if you know a woman who could take the day off if she could afford to, a direct donation to her would be great. Maybe in the form of a gift card to a grocery store that is

Tell the men to strike too. Problem solved.

I am in love with everyone in this thread from MathisyahuSerious to torchbearer2.

Yep. That’s what I’m saying.

This is all good but I take issue with Coulter’s immediate reaction being “Donald grabs pussy so drop Ivanka’s brand.”

Do you honestly think that “enabling racists” is somehow not racist? Pause. Think again.
