That’s what happens when you pander. Shit gets out of control. And fast.

This whole thing is dumb.

Isn’t this a bit much? If every character in animation needs to be played by someone of their respective ethnicity, then I guess we have to recast Bart and Lisa as well?

Banning people accused of sexual abuse? Glad we are still all-in on due process.

We’re in the age where it was “fun” to SWAT streamers for simply existing. How easy is it going to be to create evidence of sexual misconduct? Depending on how Twitch handles their investigation and how they implement their punishment, I could easily see this being taken advantage of (i.e. how Youtube handles

I would prefer it if they were more judicious in their practices. Letting women get away with all sorts bad behavior on their streams encourages the sexualization of women(I mean honestly, who do they think is watching that content?). I would be more impressed if they just applied the rules more equally and fairly to

Honestly I have mixed feelings about this.

On the one hand, I definitely think twitch shouldn’t give a platform to abusers, but I’m a little leery of them banning accused abusers, and not proven abusers. Hard to think of a valid correction for that though, given how hard it typically is for victims to see any justice

This seems to be the crux of it. Just because an individual doesn’t have the time, doesn’t mean gaming as a whole needs shorter games. I’m already aging out of this argument myself but I’m not going to trying to push gaming to fit my personal restrictions.

“Games are too long now” is a sentiment most from older people and reviewers. Most everyone else loves that they buy one game that can play over a long period of time. Especially now.

I wonder how much of the “games are too long” sentiment is just coming from people who are getting older and don’t have as much time for games. There are people who have commented here that they agree with this, because they have an adult life and can’t put that much time into a game any more. I absolutely can agree

So, um. They’re going to do a spin-off of a series that was in itself a spin-off, one that was a cult series that only people in their 30s or 40s is going to remember, and they’re going to center it on a character that was so boring they had to justify her lack of personality by making oblique references to tokenism

Cool that doesnt really address the point about but being a 90s series and then suddenly after college its 2020.

If it takes place in 2020, shouldn’t all the teenager characters from the original show be in their late thirties to early 40s now? The original was tied so heavily into 90s culture I just can’t see how they can handwave the sliding timeline away.

Watched a bit of the game on YouTube.

Ebert positioned himself as arbiter of what was and was not art, or “high-art” as he called it. He was wrong and it was a shitty position to take based solely on his own lack of experience with the medium

And Roger Ebert was shitty and disrespectful to the video game industry.

If only Roger Ebert were still alive to eat his words...

> Valve will need to tighten that up (or take more frequent, direct action) if they want to avoid this becoming a larger problem in the future.

It really isn’t, the servers have been shut down.

Why is this a video rather than an article? I would read an article. I am not going to watch a 15 minute video.
