I'll add another tip that I use basically anytime I use a monitor for reading - bias lighting. This is where you light from behind the screen to provide a gradient of light between the bright screen and darker surroundings. This lessen eye strain by reducing the frequency of adjustments to your pupil size - this tires

Quicker... Try the 45-minute Turkey. A great idea especially if you like to take advantage of the sales.. buy a fresh turkey after Thanksgiving at (often) 50% off you can get cheap meat usable (and freezable ) in many recipes or sandwiches, casseroles, or substitute instead of chicken.

I know this might sound simple but.. why not just have a thin paper pad attached to the inside door instead of a messy chalkboard or dry erase (they leave dust also). That way once you'e ready to go to the store you can just tear it off, add anything else you need and go! I've always used paper - it faster and easier

An easy fix.. muffins freeze quite nicely. You could even buy a freezer there while you're at it. ;)

Having the same issue too.. I will try it thanks!

As of Windows 7, it still can not handle text files from Linux systems that don't use MS-DOS style (CR/LF). Still has an annoying bug where the line of text you are editing suddenly appears to have a line-break in it when word wrap kicks in because when you remove some text the word wrap doesn't restore the text back.

I do believe so - and it's definitely in IE 5, and I know I've been using this shortcut since Netscape was popular. I'll guess I started using it around 1998 so place this tip in the 13-year vintage jar.

If anyone is a bit braver I've found the best solution to a middle-aged laptop, is this: disassemble the laptop and thoroughly clean the CPU heat sink as blowing compressed air from the exterior won't remove some clogs of dust. Second, remove the CPU heat sink. Remember to loosen and tighten it in the order indicated

@philosopher_dog: I agree. Destroying the microbial ecosystem of the mouth with alcohol washes isn't that good an idea. It kills all the bacteria, giving the bad stuff a chance to thrive before the good stuff can balance it out. Like anywhere else, the mouth has an immune system and sterilizing it disrupts your body

@wjglenn: I do believe that you can already create Offline Install packages with Ninite Pro. [ninite.com]

Ah excellent... I had seen the AHK (AutoHotKey) fix for it before but I see they've made a little compiled app now to do it instead of having to install AHK. Huzzah!

@PrairieMoon: Now if only we could get the backspace to behave like it used to and send me "up to parent" instead of "history back" like it does now!

What about the Robarts Library at the University of Toronto?

@jinushaun: Here's a simple way to sort it out. When you look at the metal part of the connector, the side that goes down is the one with the two locking prongs on it. Also in all cases the USB logo faces upwards on any recent USB connector. (or frontwards in the case of a phone).

@sean000: And on the radically opposite end... I own *two* microwave ovens. Defrost meat in one while reheating or cooking vegetables in the other. These things are excellent and highly efficient, you just have to know how to use them and how they work to really get all the benefits.

@JSharke: In newer versions of Windows you can adjust for this difference. In the Display Options dialog simple drag the monitors up and down (arrange them to match the physical layout). A pixel offset will be shown as you do this also. When you move the mouse between screens Windows will adjust the pointer so that it

@AmishJohn: Meh.: That's mostly correct. Onboard video will take memory from the system, however the address space used will overlap so there's no additional penalty. Any video cards have the same effect on address space. If you have a card with 1 GB then your OS will only have 3 GB available for address space (minus
