They actually released a nice little improvement in 5.5 making roto work a bit easier as it gives you a good starting point by automating some of the tracking for you. Then you just come back in and touch it up.

Was thinking about getting CS6 on their monthly subscription model.. may be seriously considering it after seeing how nice the new UI looks.
