Spain has been doing that for decades....Catalunya has been trying to set up their own currency and gov’t recently, that’s what is prompting this.

I didn’t say a high percentage...just convert whatever the current top payouts are to % of revenue over the past 5 years and that’s the baseline used going forward...everything else stays the same. Would love to know the revenue splits between gymnastics and soccer. If the women bring in more money, they should get paid more than the men. I would imagine the commercial opportunities for female gymnasts are much higher than their male counterparts, though.

Equality should be measured by the % of money that goes to the champions, not the total amount of money. If the men are being paid X% of the revenue tied to them directly, then the women should be paid the same X% of whatever they bring in. It may not amount to the same amount of money but at least it will be true…

How different is this from the gas stations that suddenly upped their prices for gas and basic staples like water? Those who have something you need can/will determine whether you get it and under what conditions. Sucks, but doesn’t seem that different to me.
