There’s a pretty big difference between raising our taxes, which are pretty low historically, and destroying our economy. We don’t have to go back to 50% as the top rate but hitting the 40% level for the highest earners (over $500k) would be sustainable and have an impact.

I hope you’re right......but 50% of the earnings for the S&P500 comes from overseas so it would seem they are getting a decent chunk of money from somewhere other than the US. And Europe is close to America in GDP with China not far behind and actually #1 when you consider purchasing power parity.
