It’s waifu culture—that’s my understanding of it. The fans are essentially upset that they were not told there is a male character involved in her life.

Kidani’s comment is a backhanded way of saying that they shouldn’t be upset when the girls have family members.

Game companies shouldn’t be bending over backwards to support authoritarian regimes which are abusing people. I’m kind of bewildered that’s become a mildly controversial statement to make.

Account was evidently made specifically to make this post. Found the Chinese apologist.

“Propaganda.”  God damn, get a fucking mirror.

Just a quick note for the sophists who’ve been trotting out “but what about a company’s right to refuse to work with others? Y’all trot that out to defend corporate disengagement with hateful shitheads who want to spew racist, homophobic, ableist bullshit—so why not now?”

It’s still true that corporations retain the

Well. This is definitely gonna change the meta.

How to shoot yourself in the dick: a Blizzard story

Capitalism demands the pursuit of shareholders’ interests, which is usually but not always just money. So if 5% of their shareholders are an extension of the Chinese regime, that does make a difference.

Its not apathy.....gamers would rather downvote a Reddit thread or review bomb a game than ever lift a finger in the political world where the action is required.

And yet its open for all other news. That’s what makes it notable and/or sad

Man, this leftier-than-thou stuff is really toxic. Here are some people saying that a) a guy did a good thing and he shouldn’t be punished for it, and b) the company that’s doing the punishing should suffer. Those are both good things, and I really don’t see how it’s helpful to attack them. They’re on your side! But

You apathy and cynicism is inspiring.  You’re so cool and rad.

Reminder that Tencent (the Chinese state-controlled video game/media giant) owns 5% of Activision.

I also love how their official statement on their website has comments disabled. Was the only post I could find where they actually disabled it.

They most certainly have that right.

Thanks for reporting on this. Blizzard has shut out all discussions on the topic and are on complete radio silence. They want this to blow over quickly.

Pretty much this. When you look at the POS screen, it may look old, but it will be running a relatively modern OS. Part of that is due to compliance issues, but alot of it has to do with security. No one, not even a major organization like McDonald's, wants to spend money on resources to build and support their own

POS Machines are basically just computers. A majority, if not all of them nowadays, run off of Windows XP and Up.

That’s... huh. Didn’t Ashly Burch go on strike with the other union voice actors? Why would she do a project that isn’t union? I mean, good for him. I’m more disappointed in Gearbox than anything.

One more reason to tell Randy Pitchford to go fuck himself. Add it to the bucket.

So I guess we know where that Epic money is not going.
