I guess you could go with more modern seats, with a period correct fabric and skip that hideous dash though.

I just put new floorpans, Dynamat, carpet, weatherstripping, and a stereo into my 1970 F250 after years of driving around with bare floorboards with fist-sized rust holes in them. It feels like a fucking Bentley to me now!

Read as “air quotes”

Well next time the sign maker should leave the quotation marks home.

At least he didn’t burn down Notre Dame cathedral.

I had a friend who worked for Ford for a week. He attached brake pedals. He admitted he attached them very badly. "If you are driving a Ford Taurus and the brake pedal fell off, I'm sorry, it was me."

I bet they gave him a stern torquing to.

find leather to be more sustainable

Gotcha, that’s the same thing I’ve been hearing from some friends also in the industry. It’s a little counterintuitive on first gasp, but it makes sense to me, especially given the long history of leather goods – if something else natural worked better, we’d probably have used it, and synthetic always has challenges

I’m tangentially involved in the fashion industry and I can tell you a number of large companies have done research into sustainability and scoring of raw materials and find leather to be more sustainable than a lot of high performing synthetic material.

This headline is not at all obvious to me.

I’m of the same opinion. I handle insurance claims, so looking at cars all day, I’m able to see what cars hold up in real life situations. I’ve yet to see imitation leather that appears to withstand any decent amount of time. Some are better than others, usually from more mainstream brands, but Ford and Volvo have

I’m not married to leather, but until I run into an alternative that’s as or nearly as durable as leather I will be opting for leather.

I’m down for alternatives to leather if we can also have alternatives to fake leather. I can only take so much of cars being offered in only real leather or vinyl masquerading as it. Can we get some cloth in fun patterns, some cool textiles like Recaro Japan uses on some of their higher end reclinables and buckets,

School buses should be 100% electric eclectic.

Imagine a retro styled AMX or Javelin.

I knew I never needed this.

I wouldn’t accept a stipend to drive this.
