They make an Isuzu diesel swap kit for these and Defenders. I have really wanted to do the swap in a 2 door. So I would be looking for a good one with a blown motor. I have seen some pretty nice ones that have tons of mechanical problems so I'd probably hold out for a green one with an interior that I wouldn't have to…

Its just for show. I have been in charge of the Toyota booth at the auto show a few times and we get various prototypes to put in the booth space. 

The only one I’ve stood next to is at the little car museum in Odaiba near the Megaweb. I never saw one driving when I lived in Japan. I have a 240Z, I didn’t know that German worked on both. In reality both of those cars were heavily influenced by a gaijin designer so I’m not sure we can say its totally Japanese.
