Yea, I know a couple of people to this day that hoard parts to keep their Buells alive. They had some really interesting stuff (if not always good interesting), and there was something to be said for being able to buy an American bike that wasn't a cruiser.

HD didn’t really appear to want it to work. I remember dealers HATED having Buell on the floor, and HD refused to give them their own stores. You’d walk in to look at a Buell and the condescending ass hat sales people would do everything in their power to berate Buell and try to shift you to a Harley.

Yea, if I remember correctly, he actually refused to sell Buell (to I think Polaris) because he literally didn't want them produced any longer. Took a $100 million plus loss just to make sure the brand died.

I'm not sure about rules regarding such a thing, but one factory owning a competing factory in MotoGP sounds like a bad idea.

HD has had two abysmally bad attempts at a second brand. I'm not sure about the new CEO, but the one that killed Buell said he doesn't understand why anyone would want anything other than a cruiser, so yea, not the best environment for sport bikes to exist in.

I hear ya. Of course everyone acts like the NA is the holy grail, which is pretty rose tinted in most cases. My 86 MR2 is so loud in the cabin (yay engine 6" from head!), I guess it’s tough to find anything unacceptable at this point lol.

Yea, I tend to throw daily drivability out the window since I ride a motorcycle 90% of the time, and my wife drives the practical vehicle. That’s not to say I don’t commute in terrible cars to commute in, but I just kinda deal with it because I can’t have two cars and a bike lol.

I had really high hopes for the CR-Z. Being a lover of tiny hatchbacks (the mini-minivan Si was the tits!) it was a cool modern looking tiny hatch.

Oh I don’t doubt it’s fun, but it’s sort of like a fourth bike for me. You have your two fairly practical bikes that have different focuses, a fun hoon bike, and then this for shits and gigs.
