Le Mans is great. But it is not the “greatest spectacle” in all of racing, worldwide.

Which is why they can’t do it, the image of being fast will be crushed for anyone who watches it in a race next to actual racecars
There are so many interesting implications of having Level 5 autonomy ready this quickly, assuming it can be done.
Who said anything about a few months?
True, but in many ways this is also exactly the kind of situation that a well-developed autonomous vehicle would be able to deal with better than most human drivers. It should be able to recognize the mechanical issue immediately (rather than take a moment of shock, and checking that the foot is actually on the brake,…
Most of these situations could be avoided with advanced programming and driving skills. I saw a diagram the other day showing barriers on either side of the road and a pedestrian in the path, and the car has brake failure. (I think it was on this site). There is a pretty easy answer there. Slam into the barrier to…
Mirrors don’t “fail to reflect?” Um, yes they do...in the absence of visible light. Since cameras can use infrared and radar creates its own, that’s not a problem.
The failure rate of side view mirrors is pretty great actually. Body shops replace them regularly, as people tend to not include them in special awareness.
Not the best example, as I was just talking with someone yesterday about side mirrors becoming obsolete. Wide angle cameras and radar work much better, and (obviously) removing the side mirrors will allow better aerodynamics and designs overall.
It would seem to make a lot of sense to use timing lines like what you describe for a lot of reasons, but especially to reduce battery drain and data usage. Rather than have it being monitored in real-time, periodically checking might actually make it more accurate in a lot of situations, as every jig in data points…
The Gulf War was the first one that really got to me, although I didn’t understand much at the time. I just remember being utterly transfixed by the images on TV. My parents tried to shield me from it, but that was impossible.

There wasn’t a transition from “boats and ships to planes and jets.” There is huge commerce over sea and air.

Missed that too. Ah, I have been waiting for a deal on these

The best is when they imply Gizmodo got blacklisted for daring to “dig” for information about Apple. They got blacklisted for buying a prototype from someone who found it at a bar, not for some journalistic ideal like not turning over sources.
But is it filled with people who would love nothing more than to sell it to people in places like Boulder? Nothing wrong with that. Their little marketing scheme backfired though
Probably easier to put it in terms of gpm
I learned more about the Hindenburg. But aside from the tragedy the recorded broadcast was a piece of history in itself.
