My point is he should admit what he did. No court case, no lame defense, no wasting more time and resources.

When news of Smollett’s alleged assault broke, there was an outpouring of support from people in all walks of life.
Beating yourself up over bad things that happen to you isn’t worth the trouble. It’s really the sort of thing you should pay other people to do for you.
I hope he won’t beat himself up over this
“I would never be brave enough to do what Jussie did. He put his personal freedom at stake and shined a light into some dark corners that need cleaning. In a way, I’m proud of him. Because it doesn’t necessarily matter that this event didn’t happen. It matters that it could happen. That’s the real issue here. So good…
Well, it didn’t take long for his apologists to slither out into the light.
Aside from him needing to go to jail if a jury finds him guilty, my thought about this whole thing is just how intensely weird and troubled this guy is, someone in need of some serious professional help. Like, how loose is your connection with reality to come up with a scheme like this and...just think the police…
Exactly! He will claim that he thought the ends would justify the means; that he would be able to spur change as a result, etc. Bullshit. If his motivations were altruistic he would’ve found other admirable, creative ways to use his fame to seek justice for PoC and the LGBTQ community. For example, by using his…
One year, Italy, another year, Amsterdam. This past year we had a little one so we unfortunately had to stay here and not mention the “C” word the entire day.
I totally get why people do not trust CPD (as a former Chicagoan I don’t trust the CPD) but the thing is this was a very high profile incident from the jump (as compared to others, which became famous later). This was a big deal for Chicago on the national scene and CPD knew they would be under the national spotlight…
I have nothin but love for this entire community. But lets be real here.
From the sound of it, he wasn’t the disruption. It sounded like the teacher created and escalated a conflict with a child. The child’s reaction to that should not be grounds for an arrest, or even a suspension.
The tension between blacks and Cuban exiles goes back decades in Florida.
Same here. A few details about the crime just seemed “off” when they were first reported. But I kept my mouth shut and hoped I was wrong. I mean what does he have to gain by this? The MAGA crowd doesn’t matter to me because they wouldn’t believe it even if the attack was real. Hell they’re still defaming Heather…
I just cannot fathom what he was thinking if this is true. Even when the details got really weird I still wanted to believe him because what’s the gain here? He is done in so many communities now and he probably destroyed his career. For what??
there are clearly people who never believed Smollett from the very beginning. Now, this could be due to an array of things: It could be something personal against him, the disconnect between fighting for black men and fighting for gay rights (and the intersection smack dab in the middle), or simply being swept up…
We’ve learned that shooting yourself in the foot can be framed as a glamorous victory over the plutocrats.
I read it and didn’t agree with it. Not every allegation is credible and treating every allegation with the same gravitas only diminishes the ones with merit.
Of course you can. We have brains for a reason. Not every allegation is credible.
