My FIL’s SL500 would like a word with you! Runs flawlessly and is very comfortable to drive. Maintenance costs are not exorbitant for a car that cost $90k($165k with inflation). Its not maintenance free, but its never devastating

It’s absolutely crazy to me that this car was ever ugly, because it’s possibly the perfect expression of 80s rad car design. Throw some neon lights around it and you’ve got your throwback poster child.
