You’re correct. He apparently has recordings to backup everything in his book. He obviously planned ahead, and understood Trump’s litigiousness.

And I cut Reagan some slack because in hindsight it is apparent he was in the early stages of Alzheimer’s disease. Reagan had his flaws, but I won’t blame him for what was clearly a medical condition over which he had no control or understanding. Especially at that time, it was very little understood.

Except Reagan’s WH was functional to begin with, and Nancy had an interest in governing. Not saying Reagan should have stayed in office, but that wasn’t nearly as dangerous as this. Reagan wasn’t exploding with rage and taunting foreign countries.

Very different scenario. Reagan wasn’t a reckless fool and was surrounded by competent and capable people whom he had trusted and relied onto run things for him, as always. He also had a (relatively) sane wife helping the situation.
