I can only read the abstract, not the full article, but it seems to me that they should also take into account familiarity with the clutter. I'd postulate that there's an inverse correlation between how long the clutter's been there unchanged and how distracting it is to you.

This is exactly what happened to me. I used to play Eye of the Tiger, and now can't stand to listen to it. I switched to the buzzer.

It's the hardware-accelerated rendering. It uses DirectWrite and WPF, which has gotten better over time, but still has crappy fuzzy fonts. ClearType, unfortunately, doesn't affect DirectWrite fonts.

Agree 100%. The best Steam sales of the year are usually their holiday and Black Friday/Cyber Monday sales. During these times, I stock up on enough games for the rest of the year, and then catch up on playing them until the next sale the following year.

@Name of Numbers: MBNA was bought by Bank of America in 2005, and they haven't issued MBNA-branded cards for some time now. Some people do have existing ones from before (and shortly after) the aquisition, though. So, good to know.
