Paul Rudd trying and failing not to laugh in that scene is maybe the most I've ever liked him. This is by far my favourite role of his.

They should at least make a tactical/survival based video game from the unused aspects of the screenplay.

Oh shit, you're right. I dunno why but I always thought all the guitar sounded very McCartney-esque.

There's loads of that going on, now you mention it. Listening to it too now. Paul's a great guitar player, I tried for ages to play Heart of the Country when I was younger and never managed to get through the first verse without flubbing a note. I was pretty crappy though.

Absolutely, it's psycho babble but I still find meaning in it all. The last time we took ecstacy, my girlfriend and I listened to Ram during our 'peak' and we couldn't get over how much the lyrics made sense to us. When I said that I consider the lyrics impressionistic, this is what I meant. Listened to when sober,

They're amazing live, never as good on LP though but maybe I've not heard their best stuff. The friend I saw them live with recently told me to check out their new album, have you heard it?

Does this mean you don't like Admiral Halsey?

There's some pretty nutty stuff on there, I think it has some of Paul's coolest writing. 3 Legs, Admiral Halsey, Long Haired Lady, etc. I'd say the lyrics are deeply impressionistic but if you consider them to be stoned babble i can also see why.

"When a rattle of rats had awoken/the sinews, the nerves and the veins/my piano was boldly outspoken, in attempts to repeated its refrain/so i stood with a knot in my stomach and I gazed at that terrible sight/of two youngsters concealed in a barrel, sipping monkberry moon delight".

Well i was discussing Eraserhead at length last night in a facebook group and, for some reason, my phones's auto correct leans heavily towards the last 24 hours of what i typed.

Really? Not a single album you like every song on?

Their interplay makes a good song great.

It is! It was meant to read "eras and artists".

"IS YOUR NAME LARRY, FRANK MURPHY?!"

It's a medium that definitely benefits certain eraserhead and artist. Buddy Holly is another one that jumps to mind.

Is this a problem?

This Will Be Our Year and Cell 44 are two of the best songs ever.

But what about Ram? Paul gets a pass from me forever because of Ram. It's definitely in my top 10 LPs ever.

Counter points: My Aim is True is let down by the double tracked vocals in Not Angry, London Calling's title track is the weakest song the Clash had done up to that point and it has been overplayed to death, Back to Black… the Amy Winehouse LP? Got nothing good to say about that. Daydream Nation is waaaay too long,

I feel that Sgt Pepper suffers in comparison because it's one of several great Beatles LPs where as Pet Sounds is as great as the Beach Boys ever sounded. Sgt Pepper isn't my favourite Beatles LP but if it were by a band who didn't also record Abbey Road, Rubber Soul and Revolver within a few years of it then it would
