I... kind of agree here? Definitely think Conker is waaaay too niche. Master Chief could maybe work, but I’m not sure how appealing it would be. If I had to go for any armor clad fps character, I would probably go for Doom Slayer over Chief, and I’m a huge Halo fan. I’d love it to just see the Doom/Isabella memes…

Minecraft makes sense for a number of reasons:

Really? I feel like they went with Steve because Minecraft has ten times the fans of Halo and Conker combined.

Steve has much, much more robust possibilities for a moveset, as was shown in the video, than Sans. He’s also much, much more popular and can be considered a gaming icon, if that’s the term you would like to use. 

Minecraft has more, I guess “universal” appeal? My kid will love having Steve in the game, but could give zero shits about Master Chief.

I’m not personally excited for Steve, but I’m happy for Gen Z. Minecraft, like it or not, is a pivotal piece of gaming history at this point.

The tasks are only time-wasters to make the adversarial coop part work. it’s completely irrelevant if they’re “repetitive”.

I love long-tail games, games that because of a playerbase or a DLC model or a great mod scene or various other factors (or all of the above) are still actively being played many years after their initial release.

Most people would be charging it every night, so it would never be an issue. That said, if you drive 200 miles a day for some reason I’m guessing they’d have a long range version of this, just like the others.
